Hyderabad, July 13: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Kishor Makwana, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC). Revanth Reddy outlines initiatives to empower SCs. “The state government’s initiatives shouldn’t be taken lightly for the welfare and empowerment of Scheduled Castes”. He said.

The Chief Minister said the government has taken significant steps to eliminate caste discrimination among students. He stated that Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being constructed on 25 acres in every Assembly constituency, with efforts underway to make them operational from the next academic year.

He said the government has also established Telangana Public Schools to provide education from Nursery to Class XII. He added that the number of Telangana Public Schools is being increased, particularly in the Core Urban Region.

Revanth Reddy outlines that the state is providing Scheduled Castes with opportunities. He has been saying so, and to exceed their proportion in the population. “We must ensure that SCs are represented in key political and other positions”. He also noted that the government is implementing SC sub-classification.

The Chief Minister urged the NCSC Chairperson to facilitate greater support and assistance from the Central Government for the welfare and development of Scheduled Castes in Telangana.
