Upcoming Bonalu Festival Celebration in Peaceful Way Urged

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, on Tuesday directed officials to make elaborate security arrangements for the Ashada Bonalu Festival celebrations, scheduled to be held from July 16 to August 13, ensuring devotees celebrate the historic festival in a peaceful and secure atmosphere.Reviewing the bandobast arrangements through a video conference from the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC), Banjara Hills, the Commissioner instructed officials to strengthen security at major temples, including Golconda Fort, Balkampet Yellamma Temple, Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Temple and Lal Darwaza.Sajjanar said adequate deployment of Task Force, Rapid Action Force, City Armed Reserve, Quick Reaction Teams and local police would be made to prevent any untoward incidents. He also directed officials to install public address systems around temples, enhance traffic management, and ensure smooth conduct of Bonalu processions, Pothuraju performances and Ghatam processions.Stressing the safety of women devotees, the Commissioner said She Teams would maintain continuous surveillance to curb eve-teasing, chain snatching, mobile thefts and pickpocketing. He recalled that 644 miscreants involved in harassing women were caught during previous Bonalu celebrations and warned of strict action against offenders this year as well.
