People keep saying they did a lot of good for many, for someone else and for others. That is not a good thing to keep saying, but when you do good deeds, you need to forget about it. An old saying is, do a good deed and put that in the waters. Let it be forgotten rather than reminding others that you have been so good to them in many ways.
What will you experience by repeatedly saying “I did such a good thing”, and so on? That was such a good thing you did for whoever, and whoever would be in awe of it. That person would do their best to return you not bad, if not good, or repay you the same to keep things running smoothly.
A good connection and a good relationship count. Nothing better than a reward from the Almighty Allah, which would help you much more than you help the weak-minded or the less fortunate. You may be a risk to those still in your care. So, the humble person wrote this: “A friend in need is a friend indeed”.
This is so to say, to begin with:
There are people I know who say, “I have done nothing”, even after doing so many good things. They keep their good things as secrets, which the Almighty Allah knows very well. Whatever you reveal or conceal, would be known already to the Almighty Allah, the Lord, the Creator of everything, you and me.
Your worldly life and life after death would be so good if it’s the case that you do good deeds to please the Lord, the Almighty Allah, the Omnipotent.
We are nothing in this world, but created for the tests that come our way. We need to pass the tests, fulfil our duties of remembering and be a submitter of our will to the Lord from whom we seek help. Ask for forgiveness whenever we are in need, or whenever we are not. This is so because we don’t know how much of a load of sins we carry. We want our bad deeds to be fewer (or forgiven) than our good deeds.
When you do Good, be at Peace
No worries, since everything like wealth and our top position, for which we worked so hard to achieve, would go away one day. Needy people start loving you and caring deeply about you, so it is on you to help and then respect people in need.
How you would be, and what you would be, they think a lot with love towards you, to whom you help, and that’s the good deeds you do. But you would speak to your own self, or to someone close to you, that you did so-and-so good to many others. That should not be the intention. The intention is the next best thing you need to know. When you are in difficulty, or in some tough time or suffer from whatever you deserve or do not deserve. You can ask your Lord, the Almighty Allah, by counting all your good deeds to the Almighty alone.
Good Deeds Are Better Than What You Have
No wonder you might feel proud or not, for all the good you do. The moment you do a good deed is the right moment you forget all the good you have been doing. When you do a good deed, follow it up with a much better one. Also, a bad deed followed by a good deed might eliminate that bad deed if you also seek forgiveness from your Lord.
Every human being in this world is tested by wealth, poverty, isolation, torture, or oppression, hunger, or disease, and so on. The one who fights for their rights to worship the Almighty alone might be successful in the end. Some try hard to pass the tests in this world to be successful in the hereafter (the life after death).
Most of the scholars say, when asked: “When would be the hour (Judgement Day)?” They say that “the moment you die”, and it’s because you need to be prepared for the hour, not just waste your time. Preparing well to die as a righteous one.
Let’s Prepare Ourselves
Be prepared for the endless life of the hereafter, rather than be prepared to waste your time by enjoying the temporary life of this temporary world. Figure out why people live on average to about 60-70 years or a bit more than that. They die, and their death is one of the signs that one must understand. Someone passed away, so you too, me too, shall pass away. Why shouldn’t we care and think more about our death? The death of others in front of us reminds us that we, too, shall pass away from this world.
Patience is a one-of-a-kind quality that a person can learn a lot from, even when bad things happen. Everything good requires patience to get going. Love can’t be forcibly taken from anyone you love. You need to be patient; the smooth path that keeps you going is the path of patience and with righteousness. Do more and never be content or satisfied with what you do; be content or satisfied with what you have. The book ‘Don’t Be Sad’ by Dr Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni might help you to live a better life. It also suggests, don’t be content with what you do, be content with what you have.
