In a major breakthrough against international narcotics trafficking, the EAGLE Force, in coordination with Customs, DRI, local police, and Railway Protection Force (RPF), busted a hydroponic cannabis smuggling syndicate operating between Thailand and India.

Officials said the operation was launched after Customs authorities at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, intercepted an international passenger on April 7, 2026, and recovered 13.2 kg of hydroponic ganja from his luggage. The passenger, identified as Sodha Mohsin Bahadur Bhai (A6), was detained at the Green Channel upon arrival from Bangkok.

During the investigation, it was revealed that another associate, Harshad Mansukhbhai Prajapati (A2), had allegedly managed to exit the airport undetected. Based on coordinated intelligence inputs, EAGLE Force teams apprehended A-1 Sandeep Jayprakash Vaswani alias Rahul Jain and A-2 Harshad Prajapati near BHEL Junction, Ramachandrapuram, while they were waiting at a bus stand. Officials said they were found in possession of approximately 12.739 kg of hydroponic cannabis.

Authorities stated that the accused are part of a wider international trafficking network supplying high-THC “OG weed” into Hyderabad, with links extending to Bangkok. Several coordinated searches and technical surveillance operations were subsequently carried out, with multiple agencies—including DCP Shamshabad, DCP Rajendra Nagar, Customs, DRI, and RPF—joining the operation.

Police further stated that additional suspects linked to the syndicate are under scrutiny, and financial and digital trail analysis of the network is underway. Investigators are also probing suspected interstate movements and international procurement channels connected to the case.
