Prayer for Rain at Maidan Islamia High School in Secunderabad Held
Secunderabad, July 19: Hundreds of devotees, including women, children, and all surrounding citizens, gathered on Sunday. They participated in the Namaz-e-Istisqa – Prayer for Rain at Maidan Islamia High School for Boys, Monda Market, Secunderabad. The special prayer was organised to seek Allah’s mercy and pray for beneficial rainfall amid the prevailing weather conditions.
The congregation witnessed a large turnout as people assembled with faith and humility. They offered a special prayer for rain. Hoping for abundant rain that would benefit people, agriculture, and the environment. The atmosphere remained solemn and spiritual throughout the gathering.

The prayer for rain was led by Ameer-e-Shariyat Mufti Mohd Hasnuddin Naqshbandi Sahib, Sadar Mufti, Jamia Tul Momin. During his address, he highlighted the importance of seeking Allah’s mercy through sincere repentance, patience, and prayer. He encouraged the faithful to strengthen their relationship with Allah and continue performing good deeds.
During the congregation, worshippers collectively sought forgiveness for their shortcomings and prayed for relief from the prevailing weather conditions. They also recited the well-known supplication, “Allahumma aj’alhu ghaythan nafi’an”, meaning “O Allah, send us beneficial rain.” The congregation prayed for rainfall that would bring prosperity, protect crops, replenish water resources, and benefit all sections of society.

Many devotees attended the special prayer for rain with their families, reflecting the community’s unity and faith. Volunteers also assisted in ensuring the smooth conduct of the congregation.
Namaz-e-Istisqa is a special prayer for rain performed by Muslims during periods of inadequate rainfall or prolonged dry weather. It symbolises humility before Allah and the collective hope for His mercy and blessings. Such prayers have been observed for generations whenever communities seek divine help for rainfall and relief from difficult weather conditions.
The congregation concluded with collective prayers for peace, prosperity, good health, and beneficial rainfall across Telangana and other parts of the country.
