Madinah Bus Tragedy Victims Get Some Relief As Azharuddin Distributes Cheques
MINORITIES WELFARE MINISTER MOHAMMED AZHARUDDIN DISTRIBUTES PENDING EX-GRATIA CHEQUES TO FAMILIES OF MADINAH BUS TRAGEDY VICTIMS
HYDERABAD, June 10: Telangana Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin on Wednesday distributed pending ex-gratia cheques to the families of victims who lost their lives in the tragic Madinah bus tragedy, the accident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The cheque distribution programme was held on Wednesday at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in the presence of AIMIM Nampally MLA Majid Hussain, Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Khusro Pasha, Secretary to Government, Minorities Welfare Department and Secretary, TGMREIS, B. Shafiullah, AEO Irfan Shareef, Haj Committee Member Mujeeb and family members of the deceased.
Minister Mohammed Azharuddin handed over compensation cheques to the families of late Mohammed Jaffar and late Shaik Siraj. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister expressed profound grief over the tragedy and said that no amount of financial assistance could compensate for the loss of a loved one.

Recalling the government’s response to the accident, the Minister said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had acted swiftly and ensured that all possible support was extended to the affected families. He noted that a delegation comprising Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain, senior officials and representatives had travelled to Saudi Arabia to coordinate relief measures and provide assistance to the bereaved families.
The Minister said the Telangana Government facilitated the travel of family members to Saudi Arabia and worked closely with the Indian Consulate and Saudi authorities to ensure that all necessary arrangements, including burial formalities, were completed smoothly and with dignity.
Addressing the media, Mohammed Azharuddin said the tragedy had deeply affected everyone involved in the relief efforts. He reiterated that the Telangana Government remains committed to standing by the families in their time of grief and extending all possible assistance.
Family members of the deceased expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, AIMIM MLA Majid Hussain and the Telangana Government for their timely intervention, support during the burial process and continued assistance during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
The Telangana Government had announced an ex-gratia assistance of ₹5 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives in the Madinah bus tragedy as a humanitarian gesture. The pending compensation cheques were distributed as part of the government’s commitment to fulfilling all assurances made to the affected families.
