City Police Conduct Intensive Midnight Checks in 562 Hotels and Lodges

Hyderabad City Police conducted massive surprise inspections under Operation Kavach on Friday night to strengthen internal security and prevent any anti-social activities in the city. Nearly 5,000 police personnel participated in the coordinated drive, inspecting a total of 562 hotels and lodges across the city between 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM.

The operation was carried out with a primary objective of ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order. Police teams thoroughly verified hotel registers, checked visitor identification documents, and inspected whether proper entry and verification procedures were being followed.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, personally supervised the operation on the ground. He visited several lodges near Nampally Railway Station and Ameerpet, reviewed room allotment procedures, and examined visitor record-keeping systems. He also interacted with guests staying at lodges and inquired about their place of origin and purpose of visit.

As part of the citywide drive, inspections were conducted across all seven zones of the Commissionerate. Zone-wise details include: Khairatabad (119 establishments), Shamshabad (92), Jubilee Hills and Golconda (86 each), Secunderabad (82), Rajendranagar (53), and Charminar Zone (44), among others. Law and Order police teams worked in coordination to verify records and inspect rooms.

Hyderabad City Police Gives Strict Instructions

Commissioner Sajjanar issued strict instructions to hotel and lodge managements to strictly adhere to regulations. He emphasized that every guest’s original identification document must be verified and a clear copy must be maintained. He further directed that complete details such as phone numbers, check-in and check-out timings must be accurately recorded without fail.

He also warned that minors must not be provided accommodation under any circumstances without proper age verification. He announced that the department is preparing to introduce a Digital Visitor Management System soon to strengthen monitoring systems in line with technological advancements.

Hotels were instructed to install and maintain CCTV cameras covering entry, exit, and reception areas, ensuring continuous functionality. Managements were also urged to immediately report any suspicious activity to Dial 100 or local police stations.

The Commissioner cautioned that strict legal action would be taken against establishments violating rules, and appealed to hotel operators to cooperate with police in maintaining peace and security in the city.

Senior officials including Additional CP Crimes Sri Srinivasulu, IPS; Additional CP Law & Order T. Tafseer Iqbal, IPS; Joint CP Traffic Joel Davis, IPS; Joint CP North Zone Smt. Shweta, IPS; DCPs of all zones, Cyber Crime DCP Arvind Babu, DCP Women Safety Wing Smt. Lavanya Nayak Jadhav, along with Additional DCPs and ACPs participated in the operation. .
