Hyderabad, July 13: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Kishor Makwana, Chairperson of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), and outlined the state government's initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of Scheduled Castes. The Chief Minister said the government has taken significant steps to eliminate caste discrimination among students. He stated that Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being constructed on 25 acres in every Assembly constituency, with efforts underway to make them operational from the next academic year. He said the government has also established Telangana Public Schools to provide education from Nursery to Class XII, along with breakfast and lunch on campus and transportation facilities for students. He added that the number of Telangana Public Schools is being increased, particularly in the Core Urban Region. Revanth Reddy said the state is providing Scheduled Castes with opportunities exceeding their proportion in the population and has ensured representation for SCs in key positions in politics and other sectors. He also noted that the government is implementing **SC sub-classification**. The Chief Minister urged the NCSC Chairperson to facilitate greater support and assistance from the Central Government for the welfare and development of Scheduled Castes in Telangana.
