New Delhi, July 14: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and sought early approvals for key national highway and road infrastructure projects in the state.

The Chief Minister urged the Centre to grant permission to begin construction of the northern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), stating that 95% of land acquisition has already been completed. He also requested immediate clearance for the southern part of the RRR, saying simultaneous construction of both stretches would reduce costs and expedite completion.

Revanth Reddy also sought approval for the proposed Hyderabad–Amaravati Greenfield Highway under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, a 12-lane Bharat Future City–Amaravati–Port corridor, forest clearances for the Mannanur–Srisailam Elevated Corridor, and a six-lane alternative highway between Hyderabad and Mancherial. He assured that the Telangana government would undertake the required land acquisition for the proposed projects.

Nalgonda MP Raghuveer Kunduru and senior officials were present during the meeting.

Later, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday urged Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu to develop the proposed Warangal (Mamnoor) and Adilabad airports as world-class aviation hubs with international standards.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Civil Aviation in New Delhi, the Chief Minister highlighted Warangal’s strategic importance as a growth centre for north Telangana, citing its rail and road connectivity, the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, Kazipet Coach Factory and other industrial projects. He requested the Centre to begin construction of the Warangal airport immediately, stating that land acquisition has already been completed, and sought completion of the project by June 2, 2028.

Revanth Reddy also proposed that both Warangal and Adilabad airports should include Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, air cargo terminals, hangars, and Flying Training Organisations (FTOs). He requested that the Warangal airport terminal reflect the rich heritage and architectural legacy of the Kakatiya dynasty, a proposal to which the Union Minister responded positively.

The Telangana Chief Minister further sought the establishment of a civil enclave alongside the Defence airport at Adilabad, assuring that the Telangana government would provide the required land. He also suggested exploring seaplane services between Hyderabad’s Hussain Sagar and Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada, on which the Union Minister asked officials to prepare a detailed proposal.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Revanth Reddy said development should rise above politics and expressed confidence that the Centre would continue to cooperate with Telangana on key infrastructure projects. Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu praised the Telangana government for completing land acquisition for the Warangal airport in record time and said the airport’s design would reflect the region’s rich Kakatiya heritage.
