KOTHAKOTA, July 15: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said that education alone has the power to transform lives and that the future of Telangana is being shaped in its classrooms. He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the new building of the Government Girls’ High School at Kothakota.

The Chief Minister said education enhances self-respect, brings pride to families and lays the foundation for a brighter future. He alleged that the previous government neglected the education sector and said his government had accorded top priority to strengthening public education by appointing senior officials to the department and resolving long-pending issues such as teachers’ transfers and promotions.

Stating that he firmly believes Telangana’s future lies in its classrooms, Revanth Reddy said he has retained the Education portfolio to personally oversee reforms. He said the government is committed to rebuilding the state’s education system and fulfilling the aspirations of Telangana’s martyrs by ensuring quality education for every child.

Telangana CM Calls for Adequate Infrastructure in Govt Schools

The Chief Minister said the decline in enrolment in government schools was largely due to inadequate infrastructure. He credited local MLA Madan Mohan Reddy for constructing the new school building and improving facilities, adding that strengthening government schools is essential for resolving the education crisis.

Expressing concern over Telangana’s ranking in education, he said the state currently stands 18th nationally and called upon teachers, students and officials to work together to bring Telangana among the top two states in the country.

Highlighting the government’s focus on skill development, Revanth Reddy said Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) to equip youth with modern technical skills and improve employment opportunities, including blue-collar jobs in countries such as Germany and Japan.

What Before Independence Day

He announced that the distribution of 27.5 lakh Young India Kits to students would be completed before Independence Day.

Sharing his own journey, the Chief Minister said he studied in a government school and rose to become the Chief Minister, urging students to take pride in public education. “If anyone asks what students of government schools can achieve, show them your Revanth Anna,” he remarked.

He encouraged students to excel not only in academics but also in sports, assuring them that the government would support talented sportspersons in building successful careers.

The Chief Minister said the state government spends Rs. 1.08 lakh per student annually and urged students to study well, dream big and strive to achieve greater heights in life.
